Haiku Workshop with Robin Izer
Haiku Writing Practice
Celebrating What Is
Haiku writing practice is a form of meditation / insight practice.
Haiku writing employs the skillful shaping of alive, compressed language inspired by delight, wisdom, and immediacy of present moment awareness.
In this interactive class we walk, sit in silence, place our attention, and write. Prompts will be suggested to stimulate the practice of haiku mindfulness and haiku writing. We will share our writings & insights with each other.
The purpose of this class is to demonstrate that “catching haiku” and writing them into life is training in present moment reflection. Composing haiku is an affirmative art of spirit which acknowledges and embodies gratitude for being alive and awake in this time, this place, this now. In some, writing haiku can be a cause of happiness, compassion, and insight.
Be advised: writing haiku may renew your life force, your mindfulness practice, and your delight in being alive!
