Dear Friends,
Spring, really? Here, now? Tomorrow? Spring arriving with snow is not news in Colorado, but I had almost missed it in the midst of all that is arriving with it. Spring will help. The indomitable spirit of the grass itself, the small plants, the warmer sun. But we are aware that it’s a time to keep hearts and minds open, to steady ourselves and gather courage. To be ready and to act freely. This is not easy.
And so, how wonderful that we have koans, these potent and surprising companions who have been through so much before us and deliver shards of the light right into our midst!
Sitting quietly
doing nothing
Spring comes
Grass grows
by itself.
